Hi guys! This is the second part of the OC Tag. I was tagged by Rosemary and Jowita but you can read more about it in the other post. Basically, in this challenge you pick a character (or, in my case, a ton of them) and answer a series questions as if it were them answering. I’ve done Vittoria and Carlo from A Monte Vista Story and now let’s check in with the Champion of Moonlight Characters.

genevieve.jpg

genevieve2.jpgGenevieve:

  1. What is your name? Genevieve Eleanor Thorne is my full name.
  2. Do you know why you were named that? I’ve never really asked. I suppose my parents liked it. The last name is my father’s.
  3. Single or taken? Single.
  4. Stop being a Mary Sue! I don’t know what that means.
  5. What’s your eye color? Brown.
  6.  How about hair color? Black.
  7.  Have you any family members? I have a mother. My father is alive as well and I think someone’s mentioned that he’s married and has a few children other than me, so I suppose I have half-siblings as well. Frankly, I don’t remember ever meeting him, so it’s of little consequence.
  8.  Oh, how about pets? I have a parrot named Ifrey. He’s a familiar, even though scientific research points to familiars having no actual effect on magical abilities. That said, having a familiar is a tradition in most magic circles.
  9.  That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like? People who use magic for low, base, stupid purposes. Magic is a great tool for many things and I can’t stand people who use it because of greed or to hurt others. It’s low and unworthy.
  10. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do? I do magical research in my spare time and I help my mother with her research as well.
  11. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before? No, I haven’t.
  12.  Ever… killed anyone before? Most certainly not.
  13.  What kind of animal are you? I’m a human. We’re animals, even if we’re strange ones.
  14. Name your worst weaknesses. Alchemy. Admittedly, my skills in this field are not as great as I would have liked. It’s something to improve on.
  15.  Do you look up to anyone at all? I look up to a great many scholars in many fields of magical theory.
  16. Are you straight, gay or bisexual? I’ve never given that any thought, honestly, so I can’t say.
  17. Do you go to school? Not any longer, no.
  18. Ever want to marry and have kids one day? That’s not part of my plans, no.
  19.  Do you have fangirls/fanboys? I don’t believe I do. I’ve had a few people recognise me because I’m in the Tournament and a few even expressed admiration. To be frank, though, I know I’m not someone you would be a fan of.
  20. What are you most afraid of? Nothing that I know of.
  21.  What do you usually wear? Clothes. I suppose you want me to elaborate, though, so I’ll say I tend to go for clothes that have a traditional twist. Traditionally, witches like to wear robes with an 1800’s kind of aesthetic and that’s what I go for. I usually enchant them to be purple, as it’s a colour that has a strong history in the community. I won’t get into it here because I’ve been told that it’s boring and irrelevant.
  22.  What’s one food that tempts you? Pie.
  23. Am I annoying you? I suppose not.
  24. Well, it’s not over! You’re starting to annoy me a little.
  25.  What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)? Middle class.
  26. How many friends do you have? I can’t say that I have any. I’ve never needed friends.
  27. What are your thoughts on pie? I refer you to the answer to question number 22.
  28. Favorite drink? Tea. Ceylon, no sugar, a little lemon.
  29. What’s your favorite place? My own cottage.
  30.  Are you interested in anyone? I’m interested in a great number of people and their theories on magic. I suspect that’s not what you mean though.
  31. That was a stupid question. I’ve been told that it’s rude to say that kind of thing to people’s faces so… don’t worry about it. It’s fine!
  32. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean? I guess a lake. Though I’m not very into swimming.
  33. What’s your type? My type in what? These questions are odd.
  34.  Any fetishes? … And they are also very intrusive.
  35. Camping or indoors? Indoors. Camping isn’t something I have time for but research trips where I have a hotel room and access to a library I always have time for.

nadir.jpg

nadir2Nadir:

  1. What is your name? Nadir Hazan.
  2. Do you know why you were named that? No, no one ever told me.
  3. Single or taken? I’m single.
  4. Stop being a Mary Sue! I will, if you could explain what you mean.
  5. What’s your eye color? Black.
  6.  How about hair color? Black.
  7.  Have you any family members? None that are living, as far as I’m aware. My parents and my sister died when I was a child. My grandfather died around the time I turned eighteen.
  8.  Oh, how about pets? I don’t have any as I find the responsibility overwhelming. I feed a couple of stray cats that frequent the area I live in, though.
  9.  That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like? I can’t think of anything.
  10. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do? I enjoy creating alchemy displays and I create sculptures as well.
  11. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before? I’m afraid I have.
  12.  Ever… killed anyone before? Oh, no, no, yes I hurt people, but it wasn’t that bad.
  13.  What kind of animal are you? A… an armadillo? Is that the right answer? I don’t know.
  14. Name your worst weaknesses. I’m not nearly as capable as people believe me to be, so I let them down. I’m also very shy.
  15.  Do you look up to anyone at all? My grandfather. Iris Basil, an old family friend who’s taught me a great deal. There’s Genevieve Thorne as well, as she’s a brilliant scholar.
  16. Are you straight, gay or bisexual? Straight.
  17. Do you go to school? No, and I haven’t gone to school as such. My grandfather was of an old-fashioned mindset, so I was his apprentice. I know it’s more common to go to an academy these days, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
  18. Ever want to marry and have kids one day? I don’t know. I suppose I could marry, but I don’t think I’d enjoy having children.
  19.  Do you have fangirls/fanboys? No.
  20. What are you most afraid of? Honestly? Just about everything. I probably should have mentioned that under weaknesses. Sorry.
  21.  What do you usually wear? Nothing special. I dress for the season and occasion.
  22.  What’s one food that tempts you? Anything from my home country (Egypt). I miss the food there when I’m away, even if that isn’t very often.
  23. Am I annoying you? No, of course not. I didn’t mean to imply it with any of my answers, so I’m very sorry if I have.
  24. Well, it’s not over! Do go on.
  25.  What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)? I suppose high class, though I don’t act like I’m high class, I think.
  26. How many friends do you have? I have some, but not many. My closest friend is Iris.
  27. What are your thoughts on pie? It tastes good.
  28. Favorite drink? Coffee. Or strong, sweet tea.
  29. What’s your favorite place? The house in the oasis I inherited from my grandfather.
  30.  Are you interested in anyone? Yes, though whether she’s interested in me considering my actions lately is a whole other matter.
  31. That was a stupid question. Not at all, I’m sorry if I made it seem that way.
  32. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean? A lake. In an isolated place, preferably.
  33. What’s your type? Intelligent and confident women tend to draw me in.
  34.  Any fetishes? I’d rather not answer that if you don’t mind.
  35. Camping or indoors? I can do both. Though I prefer a proper bed over a sleeping bag.

celeste.jpg

celeste2.jpgCeleste:

  1. What is your name? Celeste Aura Shadowmend.
  2. Do you know why you were named that? Oh gosh, there’s this tradition in my family for names associated with celestial bodies and phases of the moon and all that and they’re sticking with it. The name Shadowmend is the one I was given at birth and Aura, the only one I use for work and stuff, is my lovely wife’s name.
  3. Single or taken? I’m married and have been for twelve years.
  4. Stop being a Mary Sue! Uh, okay, sure. Whatever you say.
  5. What’s your eye color? Blue
  6.  How about hair color? Platinum blonde.
  7.  Have you any family members? How long do you have? There are my parents, of course. And my two sisters and my brother. And my seventeen cousins (yes, seventeen) and my five aunts and nine uncles (those aunts have been married a few times) and my grandparents on both sides and… do I need to go on? The Shadowmend family is old, wealthy, and really like having kids. Oh, right, and there’s Atalante, my wife, the most important of all.
  8.  Oh, how about pets? We have two cats!
  9.  That’s cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don’t like? Green bell pepper. How the hell you’re supposed to eat that and not be sick, I don’t know.
  10. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do? Dressing up and going out for dinner – always great, always with the wife. And if we don’t come home at least tipsy, we haven’t had enough wine. Atalante also fosters puppies and I help her. Participating in the Moonlight Tournament is a hobby for me as well.
  11. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before? Yes, as much as I hate to admit it, when I met my wife we didn’t always get along and I hurt her. I spend every day making up for it, even if she swears she forgives me.
  12.  Ever… killed anyone before? Technically speaking, no.
  13.  What kind of animal are you? A cute puppy! 🙂 Or a stork? Because of the long legs.
  14. Name your worst weaknesses. I’m easily influenced by my parents’ traditional way of thinking and I find that I have to fight my nature a lot.
  15.  Do you look up to anyone at all? I look up to so many people. Talented, generous, sweet people. I can’t even mention them all.
  16. Are you straight, gay or bisexual? So gay. So very, very gay.
  17. Do you go to school? Not any longer.
  18. Ever want to marry and have kids one day? I’m married so we’ve got that sorted. As for kids, I’m not sure. We have our foster puppers to take care of, and the kitties, but it’s not impossible that we’ll decide on having kids at a later date.
  19.  Do you have fangirls/fanboys? Not any that hound me for autographs.
  20. What are you most afraid of? Alchemy exams. Seriously, I’ve had so many, many nightmares about those, it’s not even funny. Okay, joke aside, the thought of my family or Atalante getting hurt is too scary to even ponder.
  21.  What do you usually wear? I like to dress traditionally. Witch robes are wonderful, but so are flashy evening dresses. I wear a lot of red.
  22.  What’s one food that tempts you? Just one? How can I pick just one cheese? One cake? One appetiser? One dessert? No! I refuse and you can’t make me!
  23. Am I annoying you? No, it’s cool.
  24. Well, it’s not over! Nah, I kinda guessed.
  25.  What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)? High.
  26. How many friends do you have? Too many to even count. It’s all about how you count friends. Even the people I meet when I participate in the Tournament, I consider friends.
  27. What are your thoughts on pie? It tastes good.
  28. Favorite drink? Wine. Red or white or sparkling or rosé? Just wine.
  29. What’s your favorite place? Our garden back home.
  30.  Are you interested in anyone? Only my wife.
  31. That was a stupid question. Well, I wasn’t going to say anything, buuuuut…
  32. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean? Ohh, give me an ocean – turquoise water and white sand. Yes, please.
  33. What’s your type? I’ve noticed that I tend to be fond of dark-skinned, curvy women, though I’ve also had a long-time crush on a close friend who’s as white as they come.
  34.  Any fetishes? Let’s not go there. We don’t have all day, after all.
  35. Camping or indoors? Both are good!

And that was that. I hope you guys enjoyed reading that at least half as much as I enjoyed writing. It was very fun and I even got to incorporate stuff from stories I haven’t written but that I’ve been planning! All three of these characters are fun to write – do excuse Genevieve’s silly answers to some questions. I answered them as I imagine she would and there’s no way she’d admit to being romantically interested in anyone – or admit to having personality weaknesses. Not at this stage, anyway 🙂 If you’re wondering how I think of her sexual orientation (since she won’t even consider it), I consider her demi-sexual – that is, only attracted to someone that she has an emotional connection with. In the case of the story, it just so happened that she formed a connection with a man, but she could have gone either way.

Well, that was it for now. Thanks for reading all this rambling, if you’ve made it this far and I’ll see you in the next post.
Cheers!

Again, really nice answers! Some of them made me laugh out loud- especially with Celeste, the answer for #16 cracked me up. Now I feel bad being suspicious about her thanks to the last chapter’s happenings, haha.
I must say, Nadir’s profile is really on point 😍

sempreviva · February 19, 2018 at 11:17 am

Very nice answers!! Now I feel bad because I have yet to catch up with this story with all these OC and moodboard posts this weekend (not that I’m complaining, they’re awesome)! Nadir is so gentle and polite, I love him already! But my favorite might be Celeste… so sassy!! 😀 Loved her answers! <3

    NotJustaBook · February 19, 2018 at 1:08 pm

Thank you <3 Don't worry about it, though – it's not going anywhere so just take your time 🙂
It's been such a busy weekend in the Sims blog circles – I love it! 😀
Celeste is a bit of a favourite of mine as well ^_^ she's always fun to write!

RipuAncestor · February 19, 2018 at 2:54 pm

This was a lot of fun! Nadir is so adorable! And I loved Celeste’s answers. She’s probably my new favourite in the story… her or Nadir… hmm… maybe both. 🙂

    NotJustaBook · February 19, 2018 at 4:37 pm

Thank you <3 I'm so glad you like them. I have a ton of fun writing all of these guys 🙂

loladiamond01 · February 19, 2018 at 4:16 pm

Ah, such a fun combination! Today I think I am going to work on the ones you suggested in the comments, so expect them out soon 😀
Lol, Genevieve is so silly at times. I think it’s interesting that she’s demi-sexual, too. Thanks for telling us, I love trivia.
Nadir is so shy, I felt bad for him. I know a guy in real who says sorry for practically everything he says. He even asked me once if I thought he’s socially awkward. He reminds me so much of Nadir.
And I love Celeste. She and Adaeze would have gotten along so well, methinks!
That was another fun OC to read 😀

    NotJustaBook · February 19, 2018 at 4:28 pm

Yaaay, I’m looking forward to reading them. It’ll be a lot of fun! 😀
She’s super silly, for sure 😛 I love trivia as well, so I’m very likely to sprinkle it here and there ^_^
I’m myself the kind of person who apologises for everything, so I identify strongly with Nadir 😛
Oh yes, for sure 😀 they would have!
Thank you, Jowita. It was fun to write these!

RosemaryMarie · February 20, 2018 at 10:38 pm

Ah, these were really great answers! LOL I think Genevieve is so sweet. And I love Nadir and Celeste, too. <3

amyqueen · March 27, 2018 at 11:59 pm

Now that I’m nearly done with the story, I can properly enjoy this 🙂
Haha, the answers caught the essence of all of their personalities in a nutshell. Genevieve with her confidence. Nadir with his shyness, and Celeste with her gem-ness, I know that’s not a word lol she’s just a gem, I don’t know how else to describe her XD
Looking back, I realize Nadir has had a rather sad upbringing, he must be so lonely now :/ His image now is almost the polar opposite of the brooding intimidating guy I thought he was when we met him in the first chapter.
*cough* It isn’t unnoticed that he is quite explicit in his interest for a certain someone whom I wish would do the same *cough* 😉

    NotJustaBook · March 28, 2018 at 5:33 am

They’re so distinct in my head that this turned out really easy and fun to write. I’m so glad you think I captured them 😀
Yeah, he’s been very isolated and sheltered and not always treated well. Poor dear 🙁
Oh yes, while she may deny her feelings, he doesn’t. That’s for sure 😉
