Present Day

The sound of Gina’s voice faded and silence settled over the villa in Monte Vista for a little while. The coffee mugs were still half-full, but long since cold and forgotten as Gina and Enzo got lost in the past. The two of them had settled into one end of the sofa, holding onto each other tightly as though they were the only point that kept them anchored in the present.

Enzo thought she was done, but then she took a breath to continue.

“It would have been great if it ended like that,” she said. “I got my best friend and he got a bloody face, but…”

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. Gina didn’t see or hear from Doriano for years, but later she learnt what he had been up to since the night she beat him bloody and whatever it was, it made her shake with anger.

“If you’d rather not talk about it…” Enzo said, giving her shoulder a squeeze, but she shook her head.

“No, I can do it but it makes me… angry. You remember that I nearly punched Doriano? Well, that’s because he mentioned Flora.”

Enzo paused, recalling the details of her story.

“Flora… the girl your brother liked?”

Gina nodded. “She’s his fiancée now, so they have a happy ending but before they could get to that… Remember that I said she got a boyfriend while on vacation? Well, guess who that was.”

“Damn.”

She took another deep breath, curling her fists tightly to curb the anger and then she finally talked:

“Yeah. Doriano found out that she was crushing on my brother but that she thought he didn’t like her back. He took it upon himself to ‘comfort’ her so he was messing around with her around the time he was fucking me.”

“But after you spread the book around, surely…?”

Gina took a shaky, steadying breath.

“I fucking wish. Flora’s parents are… well, they’re strict people and they sheltered her like crazy. We relied on gossip to spread his dirty work around, but Flora wasn’t in the loop and by the time she found out about it, it was too late. He convinced her to sleep with him by promising that they’d get married and—surprise, surprise—he knocked her up and she got kicked out by her fucking parents.”

Now that she was speaking, it was like she couldn’t stop. The words came in an angry wave and her body tensed up by his. “She worked two jobs to support herself and her boy, Gabriele, and when she tried to get child support, Doriano’s daddy sent his lawyers after her. They paid her a little bit of cash to make her go away and that was it. Because of her shitty fucking parents, she thought she deserved it. Thought it was her that seduced Doriano and therefore he wasn’t to blame. When in reality he—” Her voice broke. “He used her. He used all of us.”

Enzo pulled her tighter.

“I’m sorry,” he murmured. “Gina, I’m so sorry. If it’s any consolation, I think you broke his nose severely enough that he needed plastic surgery.”

She turned to look at him and blinked. There was a hint of a grin on her face.

“Seriously?”

“Yes, he went missing for a while in his teenage years and when he appeared again he had changed schools. There were all kinds of rumours and Lia swears she saw him with his whole face covered in bandages.”

“Good.”

She put her head on his shoulder and nuzzled close with a contented sigh.

“I’m sorry,” he said.

“Don’t worry about it. It was years ago.”

“No, I mean I’m sorry that… that I’m the reason he got to you.”

Gina lifted her head and looked him square in the eyes. “Don’t.”

“But—”

“You’re already blaming yourself for so much shit. Please don’t add this to the pile.” Before he could protest again, she repeated with emphasis: “Don’t.

He ran an exasperated hand through his hair. This wasn’t the first time he had trouble explaining himself to others. Lorenzo always insisted that he blamed himself too much, but Enzo didn’t see how he couldn’t blame himself.

“If it hadn’t been for me…”

“He would have gotten to me anyway. If you didn’t already realise, I have a bit of a temper and that was one of the weaknesses he’d written down for me. As much as I hate him, I admit he’s good at what he does.”

“Okay,” he said.

She smiled. “You’re going to blame yourself no matter what I say, aren’t you?”

“I care about you and you were hurt by my actions. What do you expect?”

Gina shook her head. “Silly man.”

Then she turned her eyes to meet his and his breath caught. While they were talking, he hadn’t been thinking about how close she were, but now he was painfully aware. Her slim frame was pressed up against his in the sofa and her lips were an easy distance away. The kiss—kisses, really—they had shared earlier came to mind.

One corner of Gina’s mouth quirked into a smile.

“So,” she said, “do you need to get going with the painting?”

No, he almost said. He wanted to stay right where he was, to taste her kiss again, to take it even further… but he steeled himself.

“That’s probably a good idea.”

A flicker of disappointment passed over her face and her eyes grew distant again. The warm, longing looks were but a memory.

“Right, let’s make arrangements, then.”

They stood and she turned to walk away. The weight of the guilt on his shoulders seemed to get heavier each second. It didn’t matter how he tried, he always ended up hurting people.

“Well then?” she asked, looking back over her shoulder. “Shall we?”

He could tell that she was trying to remain neutral, but all of her telegraphed the hurt he was causing. It was the very thing that had always drawn him to her. No other people he knew were this openly and obviously emotional. And he couldn’t leave her, not like this.

He caught her around the shoulders and drew her close. The gesture surprised him as much as it did her.

“Enzo, what…?”

“I feel terrible,” he said.

“I told you: stop feeling guilty about what Doriano—”

“No, not that.”

His thumbs that rested on her shoulders stroked the skin and he let the tip of one follow the lines of her tattoos. Gina sighed impatiently.

“Well you feel guilty for every fucking thing that’s ever happened, so it’s a little hard to figure out what it is this time.”

Enzo smiled despite the turmoil in his mind. He was still mindlessly stroking the soft, warm skin of her shoulders and at the same time he was moving closer, lightly cocking his head, pulling her near.

“I feel guilty for coming here,” he said, “when I knew what would happen. I feel even more guilty for not leaving.”

Gina’s demeanour changed abruptly and she let out a soft: “Oh.”

His hand trailed down her arm, the one that was covered in leaves and flowers of ink. Even though his hand was steady, his stomach was doing violent flips as a mixture of fear and desire coursed through him.

“Did you come here to lead me astray?” Gina had recovered her composure and she stepped close enough that he could feel the warmth from her body through his shirt.

Enzo laughed. “I wouldn’t dare, I’m a respectable man.”

“Right,” she said with a snort. “So attempted car theft, breaking and entering, hiring an art thief… that’s what a respectable man does?”

Gina moved to press small, delicate kisses to his neck. He struggled to speak again.

“Sounds pretty respectable to me.”

“If you’re so respectable, shouldn’t you leave?”

Instead of being the man he should be, Enzo drew her close and kissed her. He was careful at first, tasting, testing, but as he felt her mouth responding, he deepened the kiss. At the same time, he allowed his hands to explore the curve of her back and her waist. They came up for breath for a moment and her eyes, lit by the firelight and lust, met his. He briefly wondered if she knew how beautiful she was when her emotions ran wild and no more than when she looked like she wanted to eat him up.

“I was never going to leave,” he said, stroking her cheek with a shaky hand.

“I know,” she said. “You were determined to lead me astray.”

Enzo laughed. “I still don’t think I’m the one who’s—”

Gina shut him up with a kiss that pulled at something deep in his abdomen. His breathing grew more laboured with each touch of her lips. He had barely noticed that she had started nudging him backwards, towards a door at the side of the room.

He glanced back and was about to ask if it was her bedroom when she slipped off her top and his breath caught.

“Holy…”

Gina had him free of his T-shirt in a swift motion and then she pushed him up against the door and explored the skin of his chest with her hands, then her lips.

“You’re so gorgeous,” she murmured against his skin.

She paused then, thoughtfully tracing lines in his chest. Enzo lifted her chin with a finger.

“What is it?” he whispered.

“It’s just…” Gina raised her eyes and looked at him. “You said you’re in love with me.”

He encircled her in his arms and nodded. “I am.”

Another pause. A deep breath. She stroked his cheek and said:

“I’m in love with you, too. I swear I fucking hated you two weeks ago and now… I have no idea what happened.”

Enzo took her mouth again as a wave of emotion crashed into him and took him away. The strength of the kiss took her by surprise and his lip broke on her teeth, giving the kiss a tinge of blood. It didn’t matter. Nothing but Gina and her body and soft moans of pleasure mattered anymore. Even the ever present knot of guilt in his stomach loosened and became insignificant.

Gina opened the door to her bedroom and dragged him over the threshold. At the same time, her hands started on the buttons of his trousers and then she snuck one hand down and… he drew in a sharp breath.

Fuck.

Only when Gina laughed did he realise he said it out loud.

“My gorgeous, blue-eyed rich boy,” she whispered. “Oh, the things I’m going to do to you tonight.”

She kissed him hard, never taking her hand away, and the kisses only became clumsier and more passionate as the pleasure mounted. Finally, she undressed him fully, shed her own clothes and dragged him to the bed while still kissing him, still biting his lip, still making him dizzy with every touch.

They starting exploring each other, testing the other’s skin, seeking new ways to elicit moans of ecstasy. Many times the exploration led to accidently tickling the other and they bumped heads when she fumbled for a condom. Enzo had never laughed this much while making love but it came naturally with Gina. They were shaking with laughter until they got it right and then… then it was so right.

All sounds apart from her breathing and her gasps faded. Her fingers wove into his hair and her body curled around his. He tried counting the times they made love, but as the night wore on he lost count.

Late at night, when they stopped—more due to exhaustion than satiation—she nearly immediately nodded off in his arms. She coiled up like a cat with a sweet smile on her face.

Enzo couldn’t sleep, but for once it wasn’t dark thoughts or guilt that kept him up. It was simply that he wanted a chance to look at her. He stroked her hair and found himself amazed at the strength of his feelings. He barely ever felt anything but tired, but it was so different with her.

He loved her.

The thought came suddenly, unbidden, into his mind. He knew it was the hormones that still flooded his system. They hadn’t known each other long enough for that, it was too soon, but still it kept ringing in his mind and it felt more and more true.

I love you.

And maybe it was just hormones, but he still drew her a little closer and let the love wash over him.

Author’s note: Hi guys! And welcome to the chapter that I’ve probably rewritten the most. Like. I think I have ten version of this in various documents on my computer. I’ve also retaken the pictures twice and I have an unreasonable number of sex pics lying around, considering I ended up using three naked pics. So there you are. Fun fact: I wasn’t actually going to have any nipple in there, but then Jowita said that at this rate, I’ll never do what she did for her character Hailey. So I decided against cutting out the nips. I mean, I’m still so far from all the lewd pics she’s posted, but baby steps. 😉 Strangely enough, I don’t feel so worried about it this time. The hard part – having my boyfriend beta-reading my smut – is over, so this is just like… eh. Let’s face it, if you read Jowita and Audrey’s stuff (which you should), you’ve already seen this level of pixel nudity.

Another thing I meant to talk about is that I’ve started editing my pictures a little more with a neat piece of software I bought (Affinity Photo. I already have Affinity Designer – they’re super great programs and nowhere near as expensive as Photoshop). This of course means I spend more time on them, so if you see a reduction in the number of photos in the chapters, that’s why. Hope that’s acceptable.

I think that’s it from me for now. As you guys may have noticed, I’ve been late to reading and replying these past couple of Saturdays, and today is probably going to be the same. We’ll have a long drive back and forth to my parents’, and I prefer just waiting until I’m home to read your chapters. Anywayyyy, I hope everyone has a grand old time and I’ll see you in the next post.

Cheers!

My god, smut! 😮 Louise, you pervert! 😛
I don’t know what that says about me, but I enjoyed it a lot. I think your descriptions were really on point and I could feel the tension between Gina and Enzo. They couldn’t keep away from one another at all! Not that I mind, they deserved it after all the years they’ve spent apart due to Enzo’s stupid-ass family.
I’m not sure if it’s good or bad I was mentioned as the one who did all this crazy naked pixels stuff. But hey, only when I deemed it crucial for my characters! I’m glad you joined the dirty club, though. Good to have you, friend >:) Oh, and I think your pictures look great. I really like the warm light on the characters and darkness in the background.

    NotJustaBook · March 2, 2019 at 8:35 am

I’m just a happy pervert with a massive folder full of smutty pics. 😛
Ha, ha, I enjoy smut myself. I’ve perfected the art of having absolutely no facial expression while listening to smutty audiobooks on the bus! Guess that’s also part of me getting more comfortable with this. I feel like they deserved a little break as well (which is also why the next chapter will largely be cute fluff).
Ha, ha, well, Audrey does it, too, so I think you’re in good company. 😉 And I’m so happy to have joined the Smutty Pixels club. Look how far we’ve come!
Thank you so much. <3 Not going to lie, I'm pretty pleased with how well the editing turned out.
And thank you so much for reading and commenting, as always, Jowita. <3

audreyfld · March 2, 2019 at 3:36 pm

That was beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️ Not just because of the nip shot, but you captured the emotions so well. And it was tasteful. I had chill bumps at the end when he realized he loved her. It was the perfect mix of romance and hotness! And I just realized I got called out for being smutty! 😂😂😂😂. Welcome to the smut club Louise! I do like smutty romance stories too….so….

    NotJustaBook · March 2, 2019 at 5:15 pm

Thank you, Audrey. <3 <3 😀 I'm so glad you think it was tasteful. I've rewritten it sooo many times to try and find the right level of smuttiness and romance. It's hard!
Ha, ha, you got called out a little, yeah, but I love your story, so it's honestly also just to call attention to your awesomeness! 😀 I do love me some smut and I'm honoured to have joined the club!

      audreyfld · March 2, 2019 at 5:18 pm

Lol… I’m glad you are enjoying my little drama. When I see how awesome you describe your scenes and get the words for the feelings just right, it makes me feel out of my league. So I’m truly honored. ❤️ I am trying to learn though! 😊

        NotJustaBook · March 2, 2019 at 5:24 pm

I enjoy it a lot. <3 I know how you feel, though. I'm always the same. I see people's amazing pictures and poetic descriptions and I feel a little inadequate. But we all have our different styles and it's so nice to see. :)

Kymber · March 2, 2019 at 4:38 pm

I agree with Audrey. <3 You did a fabulous job of capturing the moment and bringing it to life. It's satisfying to see Enzo and Gina together after everything they went through, you know? Oh, and I love how you ended it with Enzo's epiphany. This was awesome, girl!

    NotJustaBook · March 2, 2019 at 5:18 pm

I’m very happy you both think so. Thank you. <3 I've been waiting so long to be able to write some nice romance scenes for these two, as well as just some nice fluff. Next chapter will have so much shameless fluffy romance stuff, ha, ha. :D You're too kind, Kym. Thank you! <3

sempreviva · March 5, 2019 at 11:41 am

Oh my god, that was so amazing <3 <3 I love me a little light smut (I think we've established that I'm a perv by now, lmao), and this was so perfect! I will agree with everyone that you did such a great job capturing the moment, the emotions… and aaah it finally happened after so long!!
And don't think I didn't notice that more fluff awaits us in the next chapter, lol! Yay, I can't wait! <3 <3

    NotJustaBook · March 5, 2019 at 9:26 pm

Fellow pervert saying: You’re welcome. *Wagging eyebrows.* I’m really glad you like how I did it. I struggled so much to find a balance between sexy and romantic and I’m glad you guys seem to feel like I got it right. 🙂
Oh, you bet there’s going to be fluff. I barely ever get to do cute fluffy stuff, so I’m indulging myself a little this time.
Thanks so much for reading and for your comments. <3

socallucyfan · March 17, 2019 at 12:52 am

Yay!! Finally!!

I don’t know what to say that hasn’t already been said. The balance between sexy and romantic is perfect. You captured both Enzo’s &Gina’s emotions so perfectly. I loved this!!

    NotJustaBook · March 17, 2019 at 5:58 am

It was about time, for sure! We both know they wanted this. 😉
Thank you very much. I’ve rewritten this chapter soooo many times to try and get it just right, so I’m glad it paid off. 🙂

twinsimskeletons · March 27, 2019 at 8:07 pm

oh my god… female presenting nipples. Louise, you’re so naughty!!
Ah, Gina, saying what we all think re: enzo, literal cinnamon roll, blaming himself for too much.
I love how warm your pictures are. And Gina gazing at Enzo has my HEART.
This was such a lovely chapter. And bonus smut! Hell yeah! 😛

    NotJustaBook · March 27, 2019 at 8:28 pm

I know, right? Surely, eyes will bleed and children will cry at the sight of the female presenting nipple.
It’s said that if you pressure him enough, he will apologise for sinking the Titanic.
Really glad you like them. <3 Had so much fun tweaking the light for these. 🙂 And of course I made waaay too many poses for this and the next chapter, so I'm glad that facial expression of Gina's hits home. 🙂
Personally, I think the best bonus is a bit of smut. I'm so happy you liked it - thanks for reading, Carys. <3

Violincat · May 1, 2019 at 4:27 am

It’s good to see them catch up after all the years.

    NotJustaBook · May 1, 2019 at 6:14 pm

Yeah, it is! 🙂 There were a lot of things to talk about.

Lila Remonn · July 3, 2019 at 3:57 am

Yay! So great that these two finally got together and let that love spill over, haha. And you wrote it really well, too, in a lovely, romantic and not brash way. Good on your bravery with those pictures 😂
Wow, it truly must have been difficult indeed to ask your bf to beat-read the smut! Does he find your sim story hobby a bit odd? I don’t even want anyone I know in real life to know about my blog, especially read the PG romance in Gen 3, for some reason it’s embarrassing, lmao.

    NotJustaBook · July 3, 2019 at 8:01 am

I had been waiting for this chapter for so long, ha, ha, so I’m glad people seem to like it. <3 I'm really glad I got there - just had to get past feeling like a pornographer when I went in game. 😛
It was super difficult hahahha. Boyfriend is actually surprisingly cool with the whole Sims thing. 🙂 I'm super embarrassed about it as well, but I'm slowly getting less and less afraid. I only ever allude to the hobby to close friends and thankfully they're all super nerds, so they don't mind. 😛 Still, it's something I like to keep mostly to myself hehe. 🙂 Boyfriend is an exception because he's the person I trust most in the world and I know he'd never react negatively. 🙂
Thank you for the comment, Lila. <3

      Lila Remonn · July 3, 2019 at 8:47 am

Oooh okay. I have two friends who fully know about the story, one of them used to have a simlit story too + shared my simblr, and the other read it back in Gen 1/2 days, but I hope both of them don’t come back and check on the legacy now lmao. A few others vaguely know I blog. And I sure hope no one else somehow links my online alias Lila Remonn with my real self, it’s like I’ve got a whole other secret life 🙄 It’s odd how simlit is generally felt as a rather embarrassing hobby. At this point many of us are writing full length novels, just with the extra effort of visuals. And yet just the addition of it being ‘sims’ makes it feel weird!

        NotJustaBook · July 3, 2019 at 8:52 am

I know, right? It’s so weird, because if I’d just written a novel and posted online, I don’t think I’d really worry about it too much. Like, we are basically writing novels – it’s honestly kind of impressive? I wonder if it’s to do with the stigma against the Sims series as a whole. I’ve heard a lot of ‘people who play the Sims aren’t real gamers’ and that type of jazz. Probably doesn’t help that it’s mostly girls and women playing it… typical stigma against things that girls like. (Grrr…!).

          Lila Remonn · July 3, 2019 at 9:12 am

Totally! I think I’ve said a couple times to people that I’m writing a novel (back when I actually was, lol) and their reactions were like “that’s cool”, but I would totally get weird looks if I said I had a sims blog. And it is pretty impressive! How many words is Artful now? Published novels tend to be around 70-90k, right? I think quite a few legacy writers hit that number in one generation.
Oh yeah, I’ve heard that as well 🙄 Probably because it’s not a ‘boyish’ fighting game like COD or LoL or even Minecraft (I play Minecraft, but only in Creative mode where I just build houses and cities, lol). Just because Sims is a peaceful game doesn’t mean it makes the player not a gamer 🤷‍♀️ Although, to be honest, gamers have such a bad stereotype that I’m kind of glad I wouldn’t be viewed as one haha!

          NotJustaBook · July 3, 2019 at 9:24 am

Yeah, exactly. I’ve never actually had negative reactions to saying that I write a novel, ever. But weirdly it feels less impressive as soon as I add ‘Sims.’ And yes, I’m up to chapter 39 in my document and it’s on 90k. I think it’ll be 100k before I’m done. It’s basically novel length.
It’s horrible how the annoying and sexist gamers make it worse for everyone else who enjoys games. The gatekeeping is honestly so disheartening and I think it discourages a lot of female gamers. (I know I’d never play online games with strangers because I don’t want to risk harrassment).

          Lila Remonn · July 4, 2019 at 2:21 am

Damn that’s a lot! I think the online blog chapter formats make it hard to truly appreciate the length of stories.
          Yeah, it sucks 🙁

amyqueen · September 26, 2019 at 1:36 am

Before I jump into the juicy bits, I have to comment on the whole Flora situation. Man that sucks; I expect nothing less from Doriano, but how could her family be so cruel? *sigh*
And now onto the main event~ ahh yes, my Regenzo heart is full and satisfied. At long last they’ve brought one another up to speed – for the most part – and sealed the deal 😌 I have to say your photos were tastefully done and caught the emotion your writing portrayed well. Definitely more tame than some other stories for sure, haha XD (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!) Meanwhile I’m over here feeling rebellious with a shirtless photo, lol. How I shall eventually jump over the hurdle that is that ‘next step’ is beyond me, but I won’t worry about that for now, hehe. I really enjoyed this! Please tell me this blissfulness continues and is not cut shot for any reason *crosses fingers* Well, on I go~

p.s I throughly enjoyed the exchange between you and Lila on blogging and game playing in general (evident by my creeper likes, lol). It’s nice to see a lot of thoughts and sentiments I’ve had, but never really expressed – irl or online – shared by others 😊❤️

    NotJustaBook · September 26, 2019 at 4:11 pm

Yeah, poor Flora went through a tough ordeal. 🙁 Unfortunately, her parents are the worst kind of fundamentalist and Flora believed them at the time.
<3 I was so glad to finally give them a lil romance. :) It was long overdue, he, he. :) I'm glad you think it was tasteful and yeah, I'm sure it was fairly tame. I'm slowly inching closer to letting my freaky smut flag fly, so maybe expect that in the future. >🙂 I guess the older I get, the less I start caring that I’m a shady lady. XD
Oh, I mean, I would neeever cut this lovely blissful time short. Not me. Nope. Nuh-uh. Wouldn’t be like me. *Whistles*

And I’m glad you liked it. It’s a matter near and dear to my heart since I’ve always enjoyed blogging, gaming, and the Sims… You’re definitely not alone in having those opinions. 🙂

Thank you for reading, dear. <3
