Hi guyssss!
I’m still versatile! At least that’s what Freja64 of The Grey Witches thinks, she’s nominated me for this award π If you haven’t already checked out her stuff, go do it – she’s wonderful with characters and pictures and sweet slice-of-life depictions.
The rules are, as follows:
- Write 7 interesting facts about yourself
- Nominate 15+ amazing bloggers for this award.
So, let’s talk facts:
- My boyfriend is the first and only boyfriend I’ve ever had. We met when I was 24 and moved in together after dating for little over half a year. That might seem like we were moving overly fast, but I haven’t regretted it for a second. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
- I draw, mostly digitally. I’ve dug out some of my old fanart and dropped it into a little slideshow for you guys to see. They’re pretty old, but not too shabby, I think. There’s also a more recent sketch I did (probably last year) of Vittoria:
- I can’t say what my one favourite meal is. The idea is silly, because even if I really love a meal, I can get tired of eating it if I have it too much. The closest I can get to a favourite meal is soup. Like, I adore nearly all soups, but especially soups made with lots of fresh vegetables and homegrown herbs. Speaking off…
- Fresh herbs are awesome. Boyfriend and I have fresh rosemary in our garden and we’re going to start growing some again soon – our plans are to grow parsley, dill, thyme, and perhaps basil. I’m not huge on gardening, but I love growing herbs for cooking. We also have a little strawberry patch.
- I’ve mentioned what I like, now here’s one thing I cannot eat: raw onions. Or things that taste sort of close to raw onions, so we’re talking raw leek, raw spring onions, and so on (I have a lot of people protesting that raw leeks taste nothing like raw onions, so maybe they don’t to others but to me, it’s same-same – can’t eat it). I love it all when it’s cooked, but raw, it almost makes me vomit.
- I’ve had trouble reading books lately, so now I’ve started listening to audiobooks. I find that it’s hard to drop everything to sit with a physical book and do nothing else, so I decided to try audiobooks – I can listen while I cook, knit, draw, play games (that aren’t heavy on story), make poses, take Sims pictures… you probably get the picture. I started listening to the books in the Glamourist Histories series by Mary Robinette Kowal, because I know her from a writing podcast (Writing Excuses, if you want to know – it’s great!) and I know she narrates her own books and has a lovely voice. It’s really made me enjoy reading again π
- I have hated math literally my entire life. I had a shitty teacher in first through fifth grade who would tell us that we didn’t understand anything. Ever since, I’ve dreaded it and I passed by the skin of my teeth in high school. Fast forward to now and I’m doing math because I want to be a programmer. Because my teacher is great at explaining and I’m working extremely hard, it’s going pretty well. I’m… actually good at math. That still feels bizarre.
So, yeah, facts! This was fun. Once again, I’m going to avoid tagging anyone and merely say that if you feel like writing facts about yourself – go for it!
Thanks again to Freja64 for the tag and thanks to you for reading if you made it this far π Tomorrow is actually a chapter day, so I should probably get the next chapter ready for you guys π I’ll see you then, and until then – take care.
Cheers!

Your sketch and art are amazing! I’ve never managed to successfully grasp the art of drawing digitally – it’s the plain old paper and pencil lifestyle for me XD
I feel you on the meal thing, if I eat one thing for too long I develop taste aversion which isn’t fun, haha. A good teacher makes all the difference when it comes to learning, glad to hear math is going well π
These were interesting to read~ Congrats on the award π

Thank you π I really like sketching on paper as well – there’s just something different and beautiful about sketches on paper π I’m really bad with colouring pencils/paint though, so I try and stick to painting digitally π
I know, right? And it doesn’t take much for me to get bored of even my favourite tastes.
Maths are going super well, and yes – the teacher is super important π
Thank you again and thanks for reading <3 π

Congratulations on your award! Your artwork is so beautiful! <3 I wish I could draw like that π
You remind me of myself on the herbs thing! I can't even count how many plants and flowers I've murder with my negligence, but when it comes to herbs, they're my precious babies! I guess I just love food so much, lol!
I totally agree with Amy about the good teacher – while in uni, one of them actually made me love statistics, which I never thought was possible because you know… statistics! π
I wish you the best of luck in your classes and all the best with your boyfriend as well! π <3

Thank you π <3
Ha, ha, I feel ya on killing plants – I'm getting better, setting alarms to water them regularly so on, but I still managed to kill our orchid π The herbs are doing wonderfully though – probably helps that they're so, so tasty π
It's so true. I had a high school teacher who could make the whole school clap and cheer when she said the word 'grammar'. A really smart, talented lady π
Thank you π <3

Always nice to find out more about you! You are so good at drawing. I can’t draw at all, so it’s why I have Sims to visually present my characters. I hate Math as well!
NotJustaBook · April 14, 2018 at 6:05 am
Thank you, Jowita <3 I'm often too lazy to draw, because it's harder than dressing sims – hence why I visualise my stories with my simmies as well π I write more than draw.
I'm hating math a lot less these days, but I totally understand the hate – I've been there π

That’s really awesome that your first boyfriend has turned out so well. You guys seem to be having a happy life living together π Growing a garden together (especially the strawberry patch!) sounds lovely.
I love the drawings- especially the Monument Valley one! Super cute <3
That's incredible about maths, I'm glad you have gotten good at it. It gives me hope lol, although for architecture I still would like to leave most of the maths to engineers π

I feel really lucky with boyfriend π We’re pretty much sickeningly happy, if my friends are to be believed π
Thank you very much – I love the colours in Monument Valley and they were so fun to depict π
It’s still super strange to me that I’m *good* at math – seems like there’s hope for all sorts π I’m okay with leaving the more difficult mathematics to others as well, though π

Congratulations! I’ve always admired those who can draw. That is so cool, the stuff you do. π We like to grow herbs, too, especially cilantro. I love that stuff so much, can’t get enough! LOL
NotJustaBook · April 14, 2018 at 6:11 am
Thank you so much, Kymber π <3
It's so cool that you like cilantro – I know so many who despise it π I'm one of the rare people who are pretty neutral on it, though a bowl of butter chicken with piles of fresh cilantro on top… yum, won't say no to that π
Kymber · April 14, 2018 at 10:58 am
There’s just something about fresh herbs that really makes a dish.

Thank you for taking your time (again) to let us know more about yourself! Itβs so nice to get to know you better!
Better one and only than a dozen hardly remembered! The most important is that you both are happy, then the question about moving slow or fast doesnβt apply!
Youβre lucky to be so talented! I like your drawings a lot, especially the one of Vittoria ο
French people love soup too, and there are so many varieties of them you never get tired. I also prefer the simple vegetable one, with some nice bread and cheese to go with it!
Iβve lived for some time in the South of France, just talking about rosemary, thyme and lavender (which grow wild in the hills) makes me almost her the song of the cikadas!
Fresh tomato salad sprinkled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and leek (or sweet red onions) is so good β but youβll never catch me eating raw onions or leek just like that!
Audiobooks are awesome! Especially when you drive a lot. The only trouble for me is I canβt listen to a book in bed, as I promptly fall asleep π
Youβre living proof of what a bad teacher can do to a kid! Iβm an EFL teacher, and I hope Iβve never done that kind of thing to one of my students β at least I try very hard to always be positive and bring out what they do best. It must feel good to know youβve made it even though someone said you werenβt capable!
NotJustaBook · April 21, 2018 at 12:22 pm
You’re welcome π I welcome any opportunity to ramble like this. It’s fun!
It’s so true – I have a friend who moved in with her boyfriend after a month and they’re still together and have been for longer than my boyfriend and I. Sometimes, you just know it’s right π
Thanks so much for your kind words π <3
Soup is awesome! With lots of fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden, yum!
Aw, I'd love to go to the south of France! I had French in high school, but sadly I've never been to the country.
Audiobooks rock my world right now – just got in from gardening while listening to my book. It made an otherwise boring chore enjoyable!
I really appreciate you working to bring out the best in your students. It's so important that there are good teachers out there – thankfully, I've had some good ones as well, including my current maths teacher. It feels like a huge victory to know that I can make it in spite of what's in the past – not least because I've generally suffered from super low self-esteem.
Thanks for commenting π It's so fun to hear others' thoughts on my ramblyness!
freja64 · April 21, 2018 at 12:31 pm
I like your ramblyness – you come across a positive person, and God knows we need those! π I have just hoovered and mopped and I didn’t even think about listening to a book – I just tired myself grumbling!
NotJustaBook · April 22, 2018 at 5:32 am
Thank you π I try and be positive because you’re right – we sorely lack positivity in the world.
Oh no, you poor thing! Hopefully you’ll remember another time. It does sweeten having to do boring chores.
