Hi guys, this is just me checking in with a little photoshoot I did. Now, other than for storytelling, I don’t do many, but since I just changed my default skin texture and installed the HQ mod (everything is so pretty oh my word), I wanted to snap some pictures. Since it’s Valentine’s Day today, I thought it would be fitting to make a romantic photoshoot of my messed up couples. Yay!
It’s not even because I do much for Valentine’s day. I gave boyfriend a Valentine’s teablend and he has the flu so he hasn’t really been in any shape to give me anything. But well, I like romantic(-ish) photos and I like my pretty, pretty simmies.
Since I installed a ton of new hair, the new default skin, and more custom sliders than you can shake a stick at, I’ve spent an unreasonable amount of hours in CAS. Not to mention the time I’ve spent just zooming in on my Sims, staring at how great things look in high quality. It helps that boyfriend’s pc has a good graphics card to begin with so it all looks way prettier than my old Ralfie* could’ve pulled off.
Anywaaaaaaaaay, happy Valentine’s day to all you guys and your friends, family, and significant others. I’ll see you on Saturday for the next chapter, unless I forget because I’m busy staring at my pretty simmies. (Don’t worry, I won’t… probably). Until then – cheers!

I was sad today because I knew I wouldn’t be able to do a Valentine’s special. Then I realized I don’t even have the couples to make it work.
Lol, I can’t believe how you’re getting along with your electronics. Does your boyfriend’s computer has a name, too?
And your Sims indeed look super pretty 😀

Ha, ha, I personally think you should do a Valentine special with Sam + A mirror or something. It’s the most lasting couple in your story, after all 😀
Ha, ha, nope, it’s just me that has a thing for naming electronics. But I did help naming his car Olivia!

Well, that sounds just perfect! Sam is very lucky I didn’t eventually make him bald. The thought cracked me up so hard, but even I wouldn’t do that. Not to him.
Ooh, his car is a girl!
Well, I remember I watched a TV series in which a girl got her first car and called it Ed, so maybe you’re not alone.
I know. I love the You Are Real textures (such pretty hands!) and default replacements for feet. I can’t bring myself to using default skins because all the Sims look too boring and similar to me. Also I have three ND skins going on in my huge family. See, I told you these nosmasks make a difference!

Ha, ha, okay, that cracks me up XD I’ve been doing a lot of CC deleting and tidying and when a male hairstyle isn’t in the game it instead gives the guys a HORRIBLE balding hairstyle. Imagine letting Sam wear that!
I’ve heard of other naming electronics, definitely 😛 I’m already the kind of person who nicknames all my friends and family, so it’s not a leap to imagine me doing that 😛
I recently got the replacement feet, too! Only thing I don’t like about them is that all socks look like they’re toe socks… though it IS sort of cute 😛 I prefer default skins, though, because I don’t care to change skins all the time. I like knowing that everyone looks pretty no matter what XD
They are pretty great 😀 I think my skin is generally pretty good with noses, but black simmies do look great with some nose definition 🙂

Well, Sam actually had the horrible bald hairstyle…when he was a toddler and I had to get rid of his messy hair because my game kept crashing.
My Sims don’t wear socks, haha. I’d have been so mad had Sam put those on for a sparring XD
I’ve recently downloaded the default skin which may just be “it”. From what I see, these are only slight changes to EA’s default.
It definitely is good for black Simmies.

I like putting my sims in socks when they’re chilling or if they’ve got their feet in the sofa/bed (because it’s just rude to wear shoes on the sofa and bed!) So now they all wear toe sockies and it’s not the best but at the same time kind of cute? 😛
Ah, nice 😀 I used to have a much subtler one as well, and I was actually pretty happy with that. I just got seduced away from it by all those beautiful, detailed skins. Especially now with the HQ mod.

What a beautiful photoshoot! <3 I love it! I kinda forgot about Valentines day, so I haven't prepared anything! (Only some steaks for the fiancé, lmao!!!)
I have read about this HQ mod, and it sounds awesome! Does it make a huge difference in game? I'm really afraid to use it though, I'm almost sure my poor laptop couldn't handle it!
And you're not weird at all for naming your laptop! I haven't named mine, but I have named my car! 😁 It's a ridiculous name, but it's greek so I'm afraid it wouldn't make sense if I wrote it here! 😂

What I’ve seen people say is that it’s best to just use it for photos, though and then swap it out when actually playing the game (not something I do a lot of).

I had an HQ mod on my last computer, which was honestly super weak (60 GB storage, 4GB RAM, 1.5 GHz ughhhh) but it still handled the mod. My game crashed all the time, but I’m pretty sure that was mostly because of the memory and storage, not the HQ mod, haha. If your game isn’t currently lagging a lot then it probably should be able to handle the mod fine! It’s awesome for close up shots.

Hmmm… now I’m intrigued..! My game does lag a little sometimes (probably because of all the extra cc I’ve put since the beginning of gen 1), but nothing terrible… maybe I’ll give HQ mod a try eventually!

Love this photoshoot! I don’t like Valentine’s Day or real life romance in general, but I’m a sucker for romance in Sims stories. Look at Gen and Nadir, those lil cuties! And the lovely catastrophe that is now Carlo and Vittoria 😛
I don’t name my electronics, but maybe when I get that new laptop of my own (and if it works), I will feel affectionate enough to give it a name haha!

Awe, I love this photo shoot. The pictures are so sweet. Both couples are in completely different stages in their relationship, and it is interesting to see that.
The new mods and CC look great. I’m glad that you are able to use your boyfriend’s computer, but I hope Ralph gets better soon.

Thank you 😀 <3 Yes, I had fun picking the right poses for them. The one for Carlo and Vittoria is one I try and avoid using for relationships I want to be, ya know, *healthy*… but with where they are right now it seems pretty fitting 😛
I'm afraid Ralfie's never going to get better 🙁 The CPU cooler is dead and boyfriend tried to replace it but because of the way HP make their computers, it's not possible to put in the new one he bought. We're saving up for a new computer – who knows though, that one might become Ralf II or something 😛

Yeah, it was a good computer, but to be fair it was old (for a computer) – it was from 2012 or 2013, so he was due for retirement 😀 We’ve been very frugal lately so hopefully soon!

That HQ mod, though wow O.o If I have the guts, I might attempt to install it, but after the death of my last computer I'm hesitant :')

It looks so incredible doesn’t it? I’ve been jealous of others extremely sharp, crisp photos for a while but with the old machine I didn’t dare it either 😛 The worst thing I think the HQ mod can do to a computer I think is overheat it – it is taxing on the graphics card. Around the web they say just to put it in when taking photoshoots and take it out when actually playing, so you could consider trying that out 🙂
