Hi guyysssss! How would you like some kind of shitty conversation poses? Oh man, I even made myself excited. Let’s look at these darn things!

This is a set of six (not so) glorious conversation poses. Some were used for my most recent chapter, while others have been languishing in my folder full of pitiful poses that will never see the light of day (probably). No longer, though! Time for these poses to become real boys.

Now a few words about these, as per usual:

  • The delectable download includes:
    • Β Two versions – one list compatible, one not. Could you have both in your game? Probably, but it would be pointless, so maybe don’t.
    • A list of codes with descriptions.
    • Preview images with codes – Carys mentioned on Tumblr that she would wish creators did this. (Am I a good creator now? … oh, also, go read her stuff. It’s good!)
    • A kiss from me because you’re such a handsome devil for downloading.*

Something else to say is that they fit pretty darned well by a table. Pose 1-4 pops right into place on any chair/table combination. Pose 5 is made with the Seasons picnic table in mind, but should work fine for any old picnic table. Be aware that clipping can occur depending on the table, chairs, and picnic tables you use.

Now, let’s have a look at the poses, shall we?

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about how bad these are, because let me tell you a thing…

  • Pose 2 and the adult pose 5 are pretty bad for males, especially males that are very bulky. The lifted arm in pose 2 is already wonky, but it looks ridiculous on a man. The chin is the problem on pose 5 (adult). It’s just already a pretty bad pose and I shouldn’t have included it but whatevs.
  • Besides the top ones, they’re fine for both genders, with one small caveat – the hand that’s resting on her thigh may clip into the thigh for males or larger/bulkier sims.
  • The pose list looks like this:

That’s not in and of itself a problem, but I forgot an apostrophe in the last description and I’m too lazy to change it πŸ™ Though at least there you have how the poselist looks. Useful, no?

Now that all of that rambling is out of the way, there’s nothing to do but download these (or not, if you don’t want these monstrosities in your game).

Download (Box, .zip)

Download (SFS, .zip)

There we are, poses πŸ™‚ I pushed these out because I can’t keep never posting the ones I make ’cause they’re bad.

Funny enough, this also counts as the debut of my new default eyes. A little while back, I spent so long trying to get everything to play nice with new eyeball meshes and default eyes and it took eleven years and I was so stressed-out that I couldn’t sleep afterwards. So that was nice. At least it looks good now that I finally managed to get everything to look how I wanted πŸ™‚

But that was it for me. Hope these come in handy despite the funky nature of some of them. I’ll see you in the next post.

Cheers!
~Louise

* Disclaimer: There is no actual kiss in the .zip file. I lied. Sorry guys.

Ah, yay, these are lovely. Oh, good, you reminded me I still have a crapload of poses to do. Actually, from my and Carys’ experience, I added the pictures and codes for everyone’s convenience in all my sets. Not that anyone would want my crappy poses, but ya know. I’m totally downloading these! Always in for more conversation poses.

    NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 1:54 pm

I have soooo many poses lying around that I could turn into packs. I just figured that conversation poses are always useful – particularly seated ones, since they seem less common. So glad you find them useful, Jowita <3

      Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 1:56 pm

It’s not even about packs. I’m halfway through a huge dump I plan to upload at the end of August. It’s all about couple bed poses.

        NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 2:45 pm

Aaah, cool πŸ˜€ impressive. I’ve only ever done a huge posepack once and never again. I stick to a few at a time so as to not drive myself insane πŸ˜›

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 2:47 pm

I screenshoted a YouTube video and I’m making couple poses out of 37 photos. It’s kind of funny, but takes a lot of time.

          NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 2:48 pm

:O oh wow… Making poses itself can actually be pretty fun, but I can’t even think about making that many into packs. Don’t know if you’re actually doing that, but, yeah – crazy! o.o

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 2:54 pm

No, I won’t pose list enable them – I think generally pose dumps are not enabled, ’cause who would want that many poses littering their list. But I also wanted more bed conversation poses and thought it would be fun.

          NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 2:59 pm

They probably aren’t πŸ˜› Haven’t done one myself, though I’ve considered it with some of the junk ones I’ve just made, then never even used myself…

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 3:05 pm

The pose codes for this are a_jowita_sd_s* and a_jowita_sd_d*. S being the Sim on the left, D being the one on the right, * being the number from 1 to 37. I have 20 for each Sim finished now and want to test them soon. Actually, since these are bed poses, I also made some of them compatible with the ground height and added _ground at the end. It really isn’t complicated.

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 3:08 pm

Oh, and if you have pose photos and stuff kept somewhere, then it really isn’t hard to pose by codes only. I much prefer it than going through my list. Plus pose packs which are not pose list enabled are so much quicker. You just open new project in s3pe, import all the Blender files and you’re done.

          NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 3:14 pm

Oh yeah, I never make packs out of the ones I don’t intend to share. That’s purely for public service πŸ˜› I’m actually making a piece of software with boyfriend that’ll let me search all my poses and get the codes so I don’t have to use the list (mine is too full) πŸ˜›

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 3:17 pm

Ha, ha, well, I imagine you wouldn’t want to bother, but if you open pose packs in s3pe, you will have Blender files there and the end of their names shall be the codes. But that’s great that your boyfriend is helping you with that. πŸ™‚

          NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 3:18 pm

True – thankfully, people are usually kind enough to add codes to their posts πŸ˜›
Ideally, though, I want something like what we’re making. He’s also making a timeline tool for me. Yay for programmer boyfriend πŸ™‚

          Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 3:19 pm

          Wow, you’re so spoiled!

          NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 3:36 pm

          Yup, very! πŸ˜›

sempreviva · August 16, 2018 at 3:43 pm

These are awesome! One can never have too many talking poses (I mostly rely on default EA conversations) and these are great πŸ˜‰ I’ll definitely download them as soon as I get back home!
Thank you so much for sharing! <3

    NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 3:58 pm

Thank you <3 I'm so glad you like them. I'm always on the look-out for conversation poses, because I'm not terribly fond of the EA ones πŸ˜› I've just seen too much of them.
Hope you find a use for them <3

amyqueen · August 16, 2018 at 4:51 pm

These are so good! Table conversations are one of the things I dread incorporating because I don’t like how limited the EA interactions are and there is a surprising lack of good poses. So, I shall definitely be stealing these as well :3 Thanks for sharing <3

    NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 4:55 pm

Definitely a lack of conversation poses for sitting at tables – well, for sitting in general. Probably because conversation poses are a little boring to make, even if they’re so, so necessary πŸ˜€
So glad to hear you think they’re useful <3

      Jowita · August 16, 2018 at 5:19 pm

Oh my God, don’t get me started on EA sitting poses. They are SO creepy. Especially the pseudolaughing. Argh.

        NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 6:07 pm

I really hate the weird grins sims have when talking, eating, walking, running… they just always smile. All. The. Time.

lazysunjade · August 16, 2018 at 6:28 pm

Oh, excellent! These are absolutely so useful! You can never have enough sitting or talking poses, and certainly never enough of sitting AND talking!! Thanks so much for these =)

    NotJustaBook · August 16, 2018 at 6:31 pm

I know, right?! All my sims ever seem to do is sit around and talk and I use the same poses over and over! You’re very welcome πŸ™‚

twinsimskeletons · August 16, 2018 at 7:41 pm

Aw, bless you for that shout out. Also thank you for including pictures! It’s so handy, I promise you πŸ˜€ Already downloaded πŸ˜‰

    NotJustaBook · August 17, 2018 at 7:18 am

You’re welcome, and I’m glad you think the pictures will come in handy! πŸ™‚ Thank you for downloading πŸ˜‰

Kymber · August 18, 2018 at 1:34 am

These are really nice and I’m sure they will come in handy! <3

    NotJustaBook · August 18, 2018 at 7:59 am

Thank you so much Kym <3 I hope they will :)

freja64 · December 29, 2018 at 8:37 am

Hehehe… You can never get enough conversation poses! πŸ™‚

    NotJustaBook · December 29, 2018 at 9:50 am

    I agree! πŸ˜‰
