I long for autumn rains. Long walks in the forest with my raincoat and boots on… Since the weather is all over the place, I guess the only way I’ll get nice, lovely autumn rains is in ts3. This is second part of my little autumn shoot (the first part of which is here), but it’s also got a nice little bonus – the poses that I made for this shoot are available for download at the end. I intended this as a little way to celebrate my birthday yesterday, so I wanted to put it out then but that didn’t quite work out. Here they are instead, though!

Let’s first have a look at the pictures, though.

These pics were hard to take. ReShade made the previous shoot look pretty great, but I didn’t have that advantage here. They’re darker and gloomier (for obvious reasons) and as you may now, in-game rain just doesn’t show up in pictures, so I had to add rain myself. I seriously hope it’s not too tacky, ha, ha.

Anyway, with that out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff: poses!

As is becoming standard for me, the poses you see here are height-adjusted. That means that you will either need:

  • A height-slider (but for reasons which will become clear later, this is a nightmare). I use Cmar’s height-slider. The sim in the male position is set to 250 this time, as opposed to the usual 200 because the pose of the log is a royal pain (again – more on that later), whereas the female is set to -130.
  • An OMSP. This is honestly the easier solution this time. Pop your guy on it, set it to 13 cm, and you’re good to go. Maybe don’t take pictures from the waist down… or do. I respect your life choices.

This set uses some props as well:

  • The umbrellas for male/female adults from this pose set (NOT INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD).
  • The log the female sim is standing on is from here (NOT INCLUDED IN THE DOWNLOAD).
    • Other accessory umbrellas/logs/chairs/piles of dead bodies (What? Be creative, be free – you’re the master of your own destiny) may work as something for her to step on, but I haven’t tested that.

As usual, the pack comes in list and non-list varieties. If you get the list version, they will look like this in your game:

The different poses are marked as female/male to distinguish them, but they can probably be used for either gender. Be aware, though, that per default, the umbrella accessories are placed in the right hand for female sims and the left for male sims. You may be able to use MasterController’s option to categorise all accessories for both genders, but results may vary.

With that said, let’s get to the poses:

Autumn Day 1

Preview + codes.

Now I’ve mentioned that this first pair is a nightmare with height-sliders. Normally, I set Enzo to 200, but her hand just hovers like crazy if he’s set to anything lower than 250. I also had to use the alt-key to get him into position. Okay, I know this doesn’t sound too bad, but I adjusted his height several times to find the magic number and it made me cranky. None of this is a problem if you just use the OMSP with standard-height sims – they slide right into place and snap together like it’s going out of style. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with this height-adjustment… (But then I think back to Enzo looking like a pouty teenage boy and I go right back to height-adjustment… I just can’t you guys. I can’t).

Face details. Please ignore how awful Gina’s hand looks. It’s either the sweater or the umbrella. Normally, they don’t look like pixel-y junk… UUUUUGH.

Autumn Day 2

Preview + codes.

Thankfully, this second one is much easier. They should snap right together, though depending on slider settings, you may need to tweak him a little with alt. I had to for this, because this posepack hates me. Putting together the pack went surprisingly smoothly this time, so it’s probably some sort of punishment or evening out. Can’t be too easy now, can it?

Face details. If you don’t think Enzo’s face is the cutest here, you’re objectively wrong.

The Download

This download contains:

  • The pack in list and non-list varieties.
  • A .txt file with codes/descriptions.
  • A .txt file with notes on height-adjustment.
  • Preview pictures with codes on them.
  • Steamy kisses (optional and not encouraged).

With that said, all that’s left is to give you the download link. This time I’m offering you a new option to download on SimFileShare! I personally haven’t had issues with Box, but it’s always nice to have more options. I also always opt for SFS links whenever I can because it’s justΒ so good and simple.

Download (SFS, .zip)

Download (Box, .zip)

That’s it for me for now. Now that I’m on SFS I will slowly start adding links to the other packs there, but I just haven’t been able to shake the lazies, yet. It’ll be a busy weekend for me with more birthday stuff happening, so I might not comment right away this weekend. Hope everyone’s having a great time and if any of you are getting lovely autumn rains, I hope you enjoy it. I’ll just settle for enjoying it in my game. I’ll see you in the next post.

Cheers!

Happy late birthday. Mine is exactly in a month from now, October 19th πŸ™‚
These are lovely pictures, as always, though I can’t say I like autumn, because the days are so gloomy and make me just want to do nothing, curl up in bed and fall asleep.
Hm, why couldn’t you just rise the female rig in Blender and not bother with OMSP and height sliders at all?
Wow, Gina smiling, now that’s an improvement.
I don’t particularly like SFS since my browser has recently started warning me about it being a dangerous site each time I try to open a SFS link. Also, Bee added a new link to her site and for some reason it is not possible to click on it as if there was nothing there? It’s really weird.
I am debating starting using height sliders or height tricks myself, but tbh, I’m not entirely sure if I need them. Though I’ve always imagined Candy and Sharicka as small, curvy women, so maybe it would be fun if they actually were small. Uhm… As if I didn’t put off doing anything story-related. So what if I wrote two posts and keep them saved somewhere on one drive without any pictures at all πŸ˜›
The poses are great and good for any fall photoshoots people may have in mind, though maybe not for a romantic moments over a corpse (dead bodies for her to stand on? God, Louise 😲) Well done!

    Thank you, Jowita πŸ™‚
Since my birthday is in autumn, I’ve always enjoyed it, but different strokes for different folks πŸ™‚
The female rig is raised up in Blender. He isn’t, though. I decided to have her at a fixed position because that makes it more likely that their hands will fit together. If she’s up on something too tall, he has to be taller as well. She has the exact height of the log I downloaded.
As someone’s already said, it’s false positives. I’ve never had issues with it – but that kind of thing is exactly why I like having two links. I’ve never heard of anyone having problems with Box, but you never know! πŸ™‚
I like height-differences too much, even if it can be a bit of a pain to work with πŸ˜› My way around it is to just keep non-main-couples (like Lorenzo and Lia) at regular height so they’re easy to pose and then make poses particularly for Gina and Enzo… hence the massive amount of poses I’m putting out, lol πŸ˜€
Pahaha, like I said – it’s the user’s choice, Jowita! My sims aren’t crazy cannibals/serial killers/axe murderers, but who knows! Thanks for your kind words πŸ™‚

Lila Remonn · September 19, 2018 at 10:54 pm

Happy Birthday Louise, I hope you had a day as lovely as you are πŸ’•
These are beautiful pictures and poses!
SFS is my favourite but sadly, like Jowita, my browser warns me it’s dangerous and stops me from downloading. It’s annoying and I hope it gets fixed soon!

    lazysunjade · September 19, 2018 at 11:48 pm

I have heard that sfs is having a problem with false postives. What works for me is when you get the red screen just refresh the download page and it will download automatically.

      Jowita · September 19, 2018 at 11:56 pm

For me I can get into settings and choose the option of entering the dangerous site.

      NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 6:04 am

I heard so, too! It hasn’t been an issue for me in a long while now, though.

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 6:03 am

Thank you, Lila <3 i had a lovely day πŸ™‚ And thanks for the kind words.
I only briefly had the SFS problem and hopefully they'll get it fixed soon. I'll always still have the Box links, so there's that πŸ™‚

      sempreviva · September 20, 2018 at 6:54 pm

I thought I’d butt in to give my 2 cents – when my browser warned me that downloading from sfs was dangerous, I noticed that the link contained the adress simfil*dot*es (I won’t type the actual dot of course) instead of the usual one – no idea why. So then I replaced that part with simefileshare.net (I left all of the rest intact) and it actually downloaded what I wanted without an issue!
Did that make sense? Lol, I hope so! Well, that was my way around it at least πŸ˜‰

        NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 7:57 pm

That’s right! I remember now seeing that SFS has problems with their short-links specifically. Mine aren’t shortlinks so there shouldn’t be any problem there πŸ˜›

lazysunjade · September 19, 2018 at 11:47 pm

Happy birthday Louise!! I hope you had an awesome day! I know I already said on tumblr, but these are great and thank you! I will have to find some sims to use these for because they’re too cute to pass up! I love the photos too! Any autumn pics are the best pics!

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 6:09 am

So this message ended up in spam, but not your other one? Sometimes, I just don’t know what’s up with Akismet…
Thanks so much, Jade πŸ˜€ It was a great birthday. Thank you very much for the kind words. I hope to see something from you using these – it would be amazing πŸ™‚ Thanks for the comment and the kind words <3

Kymber · September 20, 2018 at 3:07 am

Happy birthday, Louise! I hope your day was lovely! <3 <3 Your pics look wonderful and I love the rain you added, too! SFS is working fine for me right now, it takes me straight there but a few days ago, I was getting the red screen, too. πŸ™‚ Thank you for making the poses, they are gorgeous!

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 6:05 am

Thank you Kym <3 I had a great day, for sure πŸ™‚ And thank you for the compliments πŸ™‚
I've only had the red screen briefly myself. There shouldn't be anything wrong there as far as I know. Though that's why I still have my Box uploads πŸ™‚
    You're welcome <3

amyqueen · September 20, 2018 at 3:19 am

Happy Belated Birthday! 🎊 Hope you enjoyed πŸ˜„
Adding the rain to the photos made them even lovelier~ it hasn’t been raining much where I live either so I enjoy seeing it in game as well πŸ˜‚ I’ve had no issues stealing your poses thus far, but I appreciate you providing more than one way to DL for convenience πŸ’• This photoshoot was just as adorable as the last :3 Thanks for sharing!

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 6:07 am

    Thanks a ton, Amy πŸ™‚ I had a great birthday! <3
Yeah, I could really do with some good rainshowers, I feel πŸ™‚ It's so cozy! Well, at least I've got these pics! Glad you like the rain effect as well.
I haven't heard anyone having issues downloading (only someone on Tumblr who can enter my site at all :/), but you never know πŸ™‚
    I'm happy to share <3

socallucyfan · September 20, 2018 at 6:34 am

First off:
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! πŸ™‚
I enjoyed this photoshoot so much. Those fall colors are so beyond beautiful. Autumn is definitely Gina’s season.
How did you add the rain to the photo?

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 8:12 am

    Thank you, Stephanie πŸ™‚ <3
I adore autumn colours as well πŸ™‚ there's not much of it here yet, but hopefully soon πŸ™‚
I did it in Krita, following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ7g2netwoY&t=291s I know there are methods to do it in GIMP as well, though πŸ™‚

      socallucyfan · September 20, 2018 at 4:26 pm

      Thank you. πŸ™‚
I know that there are a few things that translate to GIMP, so I will just have to play with it.
I don’t have much autumn here in the desert. Not anything like they have in New England.

        NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 7:56 pm

Yeah I think most of all that stuff should translate πŸ™‚ it’s pretty standard stuff for graphics editors. I just use Krita ’cause it’s the one I’m comfortable with, he, he πŸ™‚
Oh :O Yeah okay! I see what you mean. We usually get plenty of autumn and winter in Denmark, though thankfully winters are often mild πŸ™‚

greencatssims · September 20, 2018 at 11:21 am

These are stunning! Your rain looks amazing πŸ™‚

    NotJustaBook · September 24, 2018 at 6:33 am

    Thank you! πŸ™‚

sempreviva · September 20, 2018 at 6:33 pm

Happy belated birthday! πŸ˜€ <3 <3
These poses are so cute and lovely, thank you so much for sharing! 😍 (I really love autumn, but mostly until October when the weather is still warm, but crisp – unlike summer. When November arrives, I just want to crawl into a hole until springtime lmaooo!)
The photoshoot is so beautiful though – very clever to insert your own rain effects, it doesn't seem too much at all! Lovely! <3

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 7:55 pm

Thank you so much πŸ™‚ <3
I'm really glad you like them πŸ˜€ I have a lot of fun making poses and I love sharing <3 I love autumn - I live for wearing big sweaters and drinking hot drinks πŸ™‚
I'm really glad you like it! The rain in the game is practically invisible on photos which is just sad! So this was the best I could do, lol πŸ˜›
Thanks for all your kind words <3

audreyfld · September 20, 2018 at 8:30 pm

Nicely done! ❀️

    NotJustaBook · September 20, 2018 at 9:30 pm

    Thank you Audrey πŸ™‚

freja64 · September 25, 2018 at 11:31 am

Beautiful pictures – must add that I love rain, especially in fall! <3

    NotJustaBook · September 25, 2018 at 11:35 am

Thank you! πŸ˜€ I love rain as well!

      freja64 · September 25, 2018 at 11:37 am

Maybe it’s because of my addiction to hot chocolate – or being Scandinavian… It’s a matter of survival!

        NotJustaBook · September 25, 2018 at 12:54 pm

Lol, us Scandinavians come to like rain out of necessity, it’s true! πŸ˜›

          freja64 · September 25, 2018 at 5:35 pm

          Exactly! πŸ™‚

twinsimskeletons · October 6, 2018 at 4:20 pm

Aaah so beautiful, I love that! How did you edit the rain on? O:

    NotJustaBook · October 6, 2018 at 6:26 pm

    Thank you, Carys πŸ™‚ <3
    I followed this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ7g2netwoY&
It’s for my favourite (free) art program, Krita, though programs like Photoshop and GIMP can probably use the same tutorial πŸ™‚

bmitjessesue · September 21, 2019 at 1:47 pm

These are super sweet – what a great idea!

    NotJustaBook · September 21, 2019 at 6:15 pm

    Thank you! 😊
